description Take the Virtual Tour! - WATKINS GLEN STATE PARK Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Campers and daytime visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool, modern playground, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic facilities, and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or in Catherine Creek, which is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.

importantInformation Rustic Cabins available at Watkins Glen State Park! - a perfect solution for campers who like tents & cabins. Offers protection from the elements, but no electricity or water. Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice. See HERE for all current swimming closures! To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. Reservations for campsites may be booked 9 months in advance for a 2-night minimum stay. For those looking to book a 1-night stay, you can do this 7 days prior to arrival or as a walk-in. To register for a campsite, the camper must be 18 years old and show proper ID. Mohawk Village / Loop B is the ONLY loop with electric sites at Watkins Glen. No beer kegs allowed at the park. Each campsite has a fire ring equipped with a cooking grill. Campsite Pictures! : See site photos! Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm and 8:00 am and are strictly enforced. The pool is open from the end of June to Labor Day. Children who are not toilet trained MUST wear swim diapers in the Pool. DO NOT leave dogs unattended anywhere in the park. No dogs allowed on Gorge Trail. Only 2 pets per site are permitted. Current rabies certificate required. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft at all times. Peak Season: During peak season, a camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous days. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 2 days before registering again for another site.
